paradise island, bahamas

When we came to Nassau at the beginning of April Emma was bummed we didn't spend any time at Atlantis. To be honest, I was a little bummed too. Water parks are on my list of places I love to go.

Last week we stopped back in Nassau to wait for good weather to cross over to Florida, and it just so happened that the next good weather was about a week away. Plenty of time to squeeze in a surprise stay at Atlantis!
Atlantis was built in the 90s, so I was a little worried it was going to be old and run down. It was not. We spent four glorious (and exhausting) days living like we were on vacation. Eating. Drinking. Shopping. Riding water slides until our bodies were sore.

They have some really awesome slides - slides that end up in an underground pool that is surrounded by an aquarium.

Slides that go through a shark tank.

Racing slides.

Slides that end up in the river rapids.

The river rapids were a family favorite. Not to be confused with a lazy river. There was nothing lazy about this river.

Atlantis is huge. Much bigger than Braden and I remember it being. I'm pretty sure we only saw half of it, and we definitely didn't take advantage of all the events. I happened to stumble upon a tween night at the kids club on one of the last nights we were there. The girls spent four hours dancing, playing games and hanging out with other kids their age. This trip was definitely money well spent.
