boats out for summer
We always feel like we're on vacation when we visit the BVI. We ate. We drank. We danced. We had a blast with some of our closest boat friends.

But summer is coming and there are a lot of boat preparations that have to be done before we can leave the boat and head back to Minnesota. After almost a month in the BVI it was time to head towards Puerto Rico.
But first - we had some very exciting packages waiting for us in the USVI!

Paddle North is a local Minnesota company that started in a garage in 2014. Their first inflatable paddle board was made in 2016, and since then they've expanded their inflables to include kayaks, docks, chairs and more.
In 2022 we purchased one of their paddle boards that we use in Minnesota and take camping with us.

Last year in the Bahamas we purchased one of their inflatable docks from another boater. It quickly became one of our most used water toys. As soon as the anchor goes in the water, so does the dock. The girls and their friends love it.

We spend a lot of time in the water. After 3 years on the boat it was time to upgrade our paddle boards and expand our water toys, and since we love our Paddle North paddle board and dock we decided to get some more of their inflatables. We needed to get to Puerto Rico, but we also really wanted to test out our new toys so we squeezed in one more night at Christmas Cove. We can't wait to get back in November and put these back in the water!

When we left Charlotte Amalie in April I thought that would be the last time we would stop here this season. I was wrong.

We spent one last night with drinks at Box Bar (IYKYK) and burgers at Tap & Still.

We've hauled out twice in Puerto Rico. Both times we hung out with these guys on our final night on the boat. Both times we said it would be an early night. Both times it was not an early night. We can't wait to see them again in the USVI when we get back to the boat! ❤️

After our not so early night, we got up early the next morning and started the 8 hour trip to Puerto Rico.

After many, many hours of work, the boat has been packed, cleaned and stored for the summer.

This is one of the most stressful parts of boat life. Watching your floating home rocking side to side while driving a long distance in the slings never gets easy no matter how many times you do it.

Leaving the boat in Puerto Rico during hurricane season is always risky. This summer feels even more risky with NOAA forcasting it will be a below normal hurricane season. Let's hope they are correct. I'd like to find the boat just how we left it when we get back.🤞🏼
