the berry islands, bahamas
The Berry Islands are fairly remote despite being close to Freeport. There were no restaurants. No places to drop trash. No big cities. No houses. Just white sand beaches, a blue hole and lots of sea life.
Really the only attraction here is Hoffman's Blue Hole. We've only been to one other blue hole - Dean's Blue Hole in Long Island, Bahamas. That was where we discovered Olivia's allergy to cold and had to rush her to the hospital (recap here in case you missed it). Since then any time a blue hole was mentioned in conversation Olivia would start crying. We all needed to overcome our fear of blue holes, so we agreed to just go and look at this one. Just looking at it turned into jumping off the cliff into it - and just like that fears were overcome.

The Berry Islands is home to over 130 small islands, so there was a beach around every corner. We quickly found our favorite beach with a swing for the kids and friendly turtles that would swim right up to you as soon as you got in the water.

Right in front of our boat was a sandbar that was exposed during low tide. We took a walk around the island one day and saw tons of cool sea life.

While we were here we celebrated both Christmas and New Year's Eve with old friends and new friends. ♥️

Any guesses where our next stop is going to be....?
