us virgin islands
We planned to head from Boqueron, Puerto Rico straight to St. Thomas, USVI in one day. Of course a lot of times travel plans on the water don't stick. We ended up splitting our trip into three days with two quick overnight stops in Puerto Rico.

Finally - St. Thomas, USVI! We only spent two days in St. Thomas to grab some groceries, have burgers at Tap & Still and drinks at Box Bar.

Then it was off to St. John!

We wasted no time getting all the water toys into the water.

To split up all the water time the girls and I hiked to Annaberg Plantation Ruins. We've visited here before, but this time we went on a day when they had a cultural program. Field trip!
It was a pretty decent hike through the mangroves, down a road and uphill. On the way we saw tons of crabs, a flamingo and a couple deer.

When we got there we met a gardener who told us about the plants growing in the garden on the property. We got samples of sugar cane, coconut, bananas and mangoes. After the gardener we went to the old cook house where we got to eat Johnny Cakes and drink coconut lemonade.

The ruins are up at the top of the hill. From there you can see the British Virgin Islands.

St. John still ranks at the very top as one of our favorite islands. We love it here.
